Happy Teacher’s Day!

A teacher does more than share knowledge - they inspire confidence, nurture creativity, and help build brighter futures.

On this special day, Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association (DCWA) celebrates and expresses heartfelt gratitude to all the mentors and teachers who empower women, encourage learning, and transform lives, one lesson at a time.

We celebrated our teachers at the Learning Centre and Tuitions with a function on 3rd September.

Meet Mohammad.

During the monsoon, Mohammad fell ill and was brought to the DCWA OPD by a friend.

He was suspected to have malaria.

At DCWA, he was:
✓ Registered
✓ Vitals checked
✓ Examined by the doctor

As an underprivileged patient, Mohammad received 3 days of medicines free of cost from the DCWA pharmacy.

Susmita, 29, a homemaker and mother of two, wanted to build a better future for her family. While attending DCWA’s computer course, she discovered the six-month Beauty Course and enrolled.

She learned threading, hair cutting, mehndi, nail art and other beauty skills. Her instructor, Pooja, also taught her professional etiquette and client-handling skills.
Just two months after completing the course, Susmita found a job at a South Delhi salon, earning ₹15,000 a month. Today, she is financially independent, contributes to her family’s expenses and is saving to open her own salon.

DCWA gave Susmita the skills to earn and the confidence to build her future.
