𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 80 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨

This Independence Day, the spirit of patriotism, unity, and pride came alive across KHUSHII's schools, community learning centres, spanning Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. From flag hoisting ceremonies at sunrise to joyful cultural performances, over 7,700 students, teachers, and community members came together to honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and celebrate what freedom truly means.

Highlights from across our centres included:
🎤 Flag hoisting ceremonies & the National Anthem
🎙️ Patriotic speeches in Hindi, English, Kannada, and Sanskrit
💃 Traditional and patriotic dance performances (including Teej, Kumaoni, and Haryanvi folk dances)
🎭 Skits, dramas, and mime shows on the freedom struggle
📢 Prabhat Pheris (morning marches) and slogan rallies
🏃 Parades, march-pasts, PT displays, and human pyramid formations
🎨 Creative activities included poster making, drawing & card making, badge making, bookmark making, and "Best Out of Waste" crafts
🧠 Independence Day quizzes and awareness sessions
👗 Fancy dress as freedom fighters
🏘️ Our "Ghar Ghar Tiranga" community rally, carrying the message of patriotism beyond the classroom into neighbourhoods
🎁 Prize distributions, refreshments, and sweets to mark the joy of the day

These celebrations reflect what KHUSHII stands for every single day not just on August 15th. Through our work in holistic education, mental health, youth empowerment, skill & livelihood development, and menstrual health equity through Pads for Freedom, we continue building a generation of confident, informed, and responsible citizens who understand both the value of freedom and the duty that comes with it. A heartfelt thank you to all our partner schools, government school staff, principals, and teachers who opened their classrooms and hearts to make these celebrations possible. Since Independence, India has made unprecedented strides across education, technology, science, infrastructure, enterprise and countless other spheres. Independence Day 🇮🇳 is not only a time to remember the immense sacrifices that made our freedom possible, but also a moment to look ahead. To sustain the progress we have made, make it more equitable, inclusive and sustainable for everyone.

KHUSHII, is one among many such actors who believe in the power of youth, power of holistic education, skills and livelihood opportunities, and we continue equip individuals, and communities with the knowledge, confidence and opportunities to contribute to a stronger India. Our work is driven by data-backed programmes, evidence, collaboration and partnerships, because lasting change is collective.

This Independence Day, we celebrate how far India has come and remain committed to doing our part in taking it further.

𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨: 642 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 & 55 𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 3 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨, 3 𝙙𝙖𝙮𝙨

From 10–12 August 2026, KHUSHII's Shikshaantra Plus Program conducted a Comprehensive School Health Camp across three schools in Varanasi; Primary School Naipura Kala Dafi, Composite School Naveen Ramnagar, and Composite School Sundarpur. This was done in partnership with the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) of The Hans Foundation, and made possible through the continued support of ROADIS.

A multidisciplinary medical team delivered comprehensive screening at every school, including height/weight (BMI) assessment, blood tests, eye examinations, dental check-ups, bone health assessment, and general medical consultation, alongside counselling on nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices, with referrals where needed.

> In Naipura Kala Dafi (10 Aug): 120 students, 20 Mothers' Group members — plus an Eco Club Plantation Drive with 11 saplings planted and students oriented on their care
> In Naveen Ramnagar (11 Aug): 250 students, 25 Mothers' Group members
> In Sundarpur (12 Aug): 272 students, 10 Mothers' Group members

Beyond the numbers, this camp created something equally important: a direct touchpoint between families and healthcare professionals. We thank ROADIS for making this partnership-driven intervention possible. This is what sustained, collaborative investment in school health looks like.

Here are some early snippets from the Independence Day celebrations undertaken by the Newgen Software CSR team at MCD Primary School, Indirakalyan Vihar.
Fifty students from Classes III–V came together for a fun drawing competition, putting their imagination and creativity on paper. With prizes for the winners and colours for every participant, it was a simple, joyful celebration of creativity, participation and the spirit of independence.

A big thank you to the Newgen CSR team and the KHUSHII teachers for making the day special for the students. ✨

International Youth Day 2026 - "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations"

Every young person we work with at KHUSHII grows up in a different context — a different district, a different set of constraints, a different starting line. But the aspiration is the same: to finish school. To have a fair shot at work. To be heard.

This year's International Youth Day theme reminds us that closing the gap between context and aspiration isn't charity it is dignity. It's a classroom that stays open. A menstrual health programme that keeps a girl from missing school. A pathway from adolescence into a livelihood that actually exists.

In the last couple of years, STEM has become a small but steadily growing part of our intervention, driven not just by the need , but by the incredible curiosity, imagination, and creativity we see unfolding in our classrooms every day.
Thanks to the support of Corporation - our STEM Fair 2026 at GMPS Gruhalakshmi on 29 July 2026 became a vibrant celebration of young innovation.

Our students proudly showcased 30 𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙈 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙨, 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙕𝙚𝙧𝙤 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙡, 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧, 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝘿𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙗𝙞𝙣, 𝙁𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧, 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙨 2040, 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣-𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 2040, demonstrating their ability to apply science to solve real-world challenges.

The event was attended by the Headmaster, dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and distinguished guests, whose encouragement inspired our young innovators to dream bigger, experiment fearlessly, and build confidence.

𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝘾𝙮𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨!

On 18th July, KHUSHII team successfully conducted an Online Cyber Security Training for KHUSHII Educators, Government School Principals, and School Staff. The session focussed on strengthening digital awareness and promoting safe online practices, supported by Honda India Foundation

Participants gained valuable insights into cyber threats, phishing attacks, password security, safe internet usage, digital privacy, and best practices to protect themselves and their institutions from cyber fraud. By empowering educators and school leaders with essential cyber security knowledge, we are fostering a safer digital learning environment for schools and communities.
Together, we are creating a more secure and digitally aware education ecosystem.

Not every activity is life changing, some are just nudges to think, and to change behaviour. Our awareness session on “Small Actions That Can Help Save the Environment” conducted in CLC, Sector 63 & Sector 22, Noida focused on simple yet impactful daily practices that contribute to environmental conservation, such as reducing plastic use, saving water and electricity, planting trees, keeping surroundings clean, and segregating waste.

With the support of 15 volunteers and the enthusiastic participation of 54 students the session encouraged students to understand that even small individual actions can make a significant difference in protecting our planet.
To reinforce the message, the students performed a skit highlighting practical ways to save the environment. Through their performance, they demonstrated the importance of adopting eco-friendly habits and inspired everyone to become responsible citizens. The skit effectively conveyed that collective efforts and small daily actions can lead to a healthier and greener future.

𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖 – 𝙉𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨

On 20th July 2026, the Harela Festival was celebrated across GIC Supi, GHSS Satbunga, G.I.C. Mauna, GHSS Devdwar, and GPS Dutkanedhar, engaging 263 students in meaningful environmental activities.

Harela, a cherished festival of Uttarakhand, symbolizes prosperity, greenery, and our deep connection with nature. Through sapling plantation, environmental awareness campaigns, slogan writing, folk songs, Harela distribution, and interactive discussions, students learned the importance of protecting the environment and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Together, students and teachers took a pledge to care for nature, promote tree plantation, and become responsible environmental stewards.
We are grateful to Newgen Software for supporting initiatives that not only strengthen learning but also inspire children to become environmentally conscious citizens. Every small step taken today helps build a greener and more sustainable tomorrow.

On World Youth Skills Day, we celebrate the power of skills to transform aspirations into sustainable livelihoods.

India is home to one of the world's largest youth populations. But unlocking this demographic dividend requires more than education. It requires access to market-relevant skills, industry exposure, and meaningful employment pathways.

At KHUSHII, we work with young people from underserved communities to equip them with the skills and confidence they need to build better futures. Through our employability skill centres, youth receive industry-aligned training in courses such as General Duty Attendant (GDA) and more. The programmes are aligned with the Ministry of Skill Development, helping bridge the gap between learning and livelihoods.
