Some Glimpses of the SCO Meet in Goa, 2023. The SCO Meet in Goa, 2023, was a significant event that brought together leaders from member countries to discuss important issues. The meeting was held in a beautiful location and offered glimpses of the culture and traditions of India. Leaders discussed a wide range of topics, including economic cooperation, regional security, and counter-terrorism measures.

Meet Me. Ashwin Abhishek 
He is an Assistant Professor (Chinese) at the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University. He has done his studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University and Beijing Language and Culture University.

Welcoming another newest member in the hub, Mr. Abhinav Avishek !

He is pursuing his Master’s in Korean Studies (2023) from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has completed his Diploma and Advance Diploma in the Korean Language from the Korean Cultural Centre (KCC), India and Jamia Milia Islamia respectively. He has worked as a freelance interpreter and translator for the last several years.

We at SCOLAR New Delhi hub are excited to introduce you to our new Hub Curator!!!

Meet Mr.

Shanky Chandra is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Chinese Studies Department. School of Languages at Doon University. He is currently working on his doctoral thesis titled "Socio-Political and Cultural Factors in the Making of Chinese Science Fiction Writer Liu Cixin: Understanding The Three-Body Problem," at the Centre for Chinese and Southeast Asian Studies, JNU New Delhi. He was awarded a Chinese Government Scholarship by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2013 for a Post Graduate Diploma at Beijing Language & Culture University. In 2021, he spent one year at the Department of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Language and Literature at the School of Chinese Language and Literature of Beijing Normal University. Thereafter, he conducted research at the Harvard-Yenching Institute, Harvard University. He is also a member of the International Forum of Chinese Language Teachers and its official Account e-journal(国际汉语教师500强公众号).

✅Topic: “Middle powers in Afghanistan: a Canadian perspective”

👩‍🏫Speaker: Dr. Kumari Mansi
Assistant Professor, Amity University Haryana

In the session, she will talk about Canada’s contribution in the War in Afghanistan after the 9/11 terrorist attack. It will also focus on the Canada's role in Afghanistan's political landscape.

Bio-note: Dr. Mansi teaches French & Quebec Studies at Amity University Haryana (AUH) since 2013. Earlier she was working with School of Foreign Languages, Ministry of Defence.

Dr. Mansi holds her Doctorate degree (2018) in international relations (Canadian studies) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has received “Shastri Students Mobility” fellowship to undertake her research work in University of Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 2012. She is also the recipient of Shastri Knowledge Mobilization Grant (SKMG 2013-14). Dr. Mansi has completed her M.Phil, Masters’ and Graduation degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Dr. Mansi is an interdisciplinary researcher whose areas of interest are varied, which includes, Indo-Pacific, Foreign policy of Canada and India, Quebec-Canada relations, Francophonie, culture & civilization of France & Francophone countries. She has delivered various lectures at National and International level. She has also participated in various national and international conferences/seminars/workshops and has chaired sessions in panel presentation.
