Good Deeds Day isn’t just about what you do -
it’s also about who you choose to do it with.

At VolFest, doing good didn’t follow one format.
Some showed up alone, quietly finding their way into conversations and causes that stayed with them.
Some came with friends, turning shared moments into shared intent.
Some brought their families - parents, siblings, even grandparents - making doing good a part of something they experience together.
And many walked in as strangers, only to leave having built connections they didn’t expect.

With 8124 citizens, 51 non-profits, and 35 performers, the day became a reminder that doing good doesn’t need a perfect plan - it just needs presence.

Because whether you begin alone, with people you know, or alongside those you’ve just met, what truly matters is that you begin.

And sometimes, bringing your people into spaces like these is where that journey becomes even more meaningful.

VolFest (2/n) has a way of gently challenging the idea that impact needs to be immediate, visible, or measurable in grand ways, because what it really offers is something far more subtle and lasting - a space where people slowly build their own understanding of what doing good can look like in their lives.

It reveals itself in moments that don’t ask for attention but stay with you anyway - whether it’s meeting a character like Ginni and unexpectedly finding yourself smiling a little longer, pausing to watch a mime act that says everything without a single word, or listening to Peepal Baba speak about small, immediate actions that suddenly feel within reach. It shows up when you find yourself grooving with fellow volunteers without hesitation, or when a simple conversation extends beyond circles - like including the sweeping staff didi in a discussion that was never meant to be exclusive. Even something as small as painting a gullak begins to feel like participation in something larger than yourself.

It is in these unhurried interactions, in the willingness to try something new, and in the openness to listen to perspectives beyond one’s own that the true essence of the experience unfolds. You may not walk in with clear intentions, and you may not leave with a defined plan, but somewhere in between, you begin to carry a different lens - one that makes you more aware, more empathetic, and perhaps a little more inclined to act.

And sometimes, that quiet shift in perspective is far more powerful than any immediate outcome, because it stays, grows, and finds its way into the choices we make long after the event is over.

VolFest 2026 (1/n)

At Volfest, smiles don’t arrive all at once.
They unfold… moment by moment.

In a quiet corner, two kids stand by an easel -
one focused, the other stealing a soft, proud glance.
A smile that says, “you’ve got this.”

Under the trees, two grandmothers stand -
not smiling for the camera, but holding stories in their eyes. As their grand kids perform ‘No means No’
The kind of validation that feels like warmth without words.

At a small stall, a conversation turns into connection -
hands moving, eyes lighting up, a hug forming in the middle of being truly heard.

On stage, young performers hold their ground
a mix of nerves and courage - the kind of smile that comes from showing up anyway.

Somewhere in the crowd, a group breaks into laughter,
music in their hands, rhythm in their bodies - joy that doesn’t ask for permission.

And then there are the smallest gestures - knowing a cause, understanding while celebrating; meeting for the first time while promising time in future!
That’s Volfest.

Not just one big moment, but hundreds of small, honest smiles finding their way to the surface.

At VolFest’26, join Origami for Good — a calming, hands-on activity where simple folds turn into meaningful creations.
In this session, volunteers will learn and practice the art of origami, creating paper crafts that can be used as learning tools, gifts, or decorative pieces for community spaces. The activity encourages mindfulness, creativity, and patience while transforming something simple into something special.
🕊️ Each fold carries intention — turning small actions into moments of joy and impact.
