IPS Foundation

IPS Foundation ‘NOT FOR PROFIT’ entity by a group of young environmentally conscious individuals working towards eliminating the menace of stubble burning in Punjab.

We are the India Paryavaran Sahayak Foundation, a non-profit organisation set up in 2018, working to solve some of India’s most pressing and high priority environmental challenges. Currently, we focus on two priorities – i) addressing the issue of paddy stubble burning in northwest India; and ii) supporting India’s climate commitment of increasing carbon sink through reforestation and restoration.

We are working in partnership with the government of Punjab and other stakeholders to promote the use of Crop Residue Management (CRM) machines among farmers. Through various subsidy schemes, Punjab has ensured adequate supply of such machinery, but its uptake among farmers continues to remain low due to gaps in Information, Education and Communication efforts. We are addressing this gap by raising awareness and conducting training and capacity building programmes with farmers in Punjab to bust the myths around these machines and encourage their use. We also aim to plan 1,50,000 native tree saplings every year in villages of Punjab and adjoining states.
