The integration of Research, Innovation and Technology Development is the foundation of Atma-Nirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India).
The establishment of Research and Development Cell (RDC) in HEIs will enable attainment of targets of Atma-Nirbhar Bharat and is expected to play a pivotal role in catalyzing multidisciplinary/ transdisciplinary and translational research culture mandated in NEP- 2020.
UGC has brought out Guidelines for the establishment RDC in universities and colleges. Guidelines provide a clearcut road map for the establishment of RDC with its objectives and functions. These RDC Guidelines are available on UGC Website.
So far, 44 Central Universities (38 already established and 06 under process), 83 Deemed Universities, 45 State government funded Universities, 29 Private State Universities, and 95 Colleges have established Research and Development Cell.
UGC is arranging a meeting with many of these HEIs on 23rd August at 10 am to discuss how these RDCs are functioning to improve the research eco-system in HEIs. This meeting will be live streamed on UGC twitter () and youtube channels.
