Electronic Industries Association of India was established in 1967 as the first industry association supporting electronics hardware when India’s Electronics industry was still in its infancy. Since then, ELCINA has established itself as an interactive forum for electronics and IT manufacturers. ELCINA actively interacts with the government and advises it on policy and business environment issues.

It networks with technical institutions and business support organisations in India and abroad to enable business expansion and information dissemination on technical developments. With greater liberalisation, ELCINA’s focus has shifted to professional and value-added services to the Electronics Community.

ELCINA successfully hosted its Industry Meet in Ahmedabad on 1st April 2026 at Hotel Hyatt , bringing together key stakeholders from Gujarat’s electronics ecosystem, leading institutions, and representatives from the Government of Gujarat for meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

The meet provided a valuable platform to engage with members on their expectations from ELCINA as the voice of India’s electronics hardware industry—further reinforcing its role in policy advocacy, industry representation, and ecosystem development. ELCINA is committed to work with Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM) to strengthen Gujarat's position as a Semiconductor Manufacturing hub..

The Government vide 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟭/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟯𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, has allowed SEZ units to clear goods into the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) under specific conditions.
While this presents a significant opportunity, the notification also entails complex eligibility criteria, partial duty benefits, and compliance requirements that may directly impact industry stakeholders.

As part of 𝗘𝗟𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗔’𝘀 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 co-located with 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮, we co-organized the 𝗖𝗫𝗢 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗠𝗜 on the theme “𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽-𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 – 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦-𝘈𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨” on 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at 𝗜𝗘𝗠𝗟, 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝗶𝗱𝗮.

The 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 organized by 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗳𝗴 (𝗡𝗖𝗔𝗠), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology & Government of Telangana was held on 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅, New Delhi.

Mr. Rajoo Goel, Secretary General, ELCINA, joined the policy panel alongside distinguished leaders including Mr. Amitesh Kumar Sinha (MeitY) 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, highlighting the importance of AM Technology and 3D Printing. He spoke about the growth in adoption of this technology and its applications. Other speakers included Mr Rajesh Sharma (ICEA), 𝗗𝗿. 𝗟. 𝗝𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿 (AMSI), and Mr. Adwaith Gupta (Paanduv Applications). The session was moderated by Dr. Sankha dip Das, Scientist E (MeitY).

During the discussion, Mr. Goel highlighted the 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 for Additive Manufacturing (AM) machine manufacturing in India. He recommended inclusion of AM under the ECMS Scheme allocating funds under the expanded to accelerate growth of this technology.

The panel underscored the importance of 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 support and support for commercialization of AM specific R&D to accelerate India’s capabilities in additive manufacturing.
