Electronic Industries Association of India was established in 1967 as the first industry association supporting electronics hardware when Indiaโ€™s Electronics industry was still in its infancy. Since then, ELCINA has established itself as an interactive forum for electronics and IT manufacturers. ELCINA actively interacts with the government and advises it on policy and business environment issues.

It networks with technical institutions and business support organisations in India and abroad to enable business expansion and information dissemination on technical developments. With greater liberalisation, ELCINAโ€™s focus has shifted to professional and value-added services to the Electronics Community.

Some achievements transcend individual milestones and become a source of inspiration for an entire community. We are immensely proud that Ms. Nisha Sasikumar, a 16-year-old mountaineer from Chennai and daughter of ELCINA President Sasikumar Gendham, Ph.D. , became the youngest female to summit Mount Everest via Nepal's South Col Route on 25 May 2026. After unfurling the Indian Tricolour at the world's highest point, she also proudly hoisted the ELCINA emblemโ€”a truly special moment for India's electronics industry fraternity. Her remarkable achievement is the result of 45 days of endurance, unwavering determination, meticulous preparation and extraordinary mental resilience.

At Strategic Electronics Summit - Defence & Aerospace 2026, Ms. Nisha was felicitated for her remarkable achievement. Everest is only one milestone in Nisha's inspiring journey. Having already conquered five of the Seven Summits, she now aims to complete the Seven Summits Challenge at just 17 years of age. Everyone at ELCINA congratulates Nisha on this extraordinary accomplishment and wishes her continued success as she reaches for even greater heights.
