The Summit will be inaugurated by Shri Jitin Prasada, Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, underscoring India’s leadership in advancing the responsible and accountable use of artificial intelligence for public good.

Convened at a critical juncture as India accelerates the use of artificial intelligence for inclusive growth, governance, and social good, the Summit will bring together senior government leaders, law enforcement agencies, technologists, policymakers, researchers, and civil society to examine how artificial intelligence can be operationalised within child protection systems.

In today’s connected world, children are increasingly exposed to online grooming, , , , and misinformation. Online safety for children is no longer optional. It is a critical life skill.

At Saraswathi Vidhyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Vattiyoorkkaavu, Thiruvananthapuram, more than 500 students from Classes 7 and 8 took part in a dynamic session on . The session was led by Ms. Devootty M. D, Victim Assistance Counsellor from Koottu, in collaboration with the .

Real-life insights from ASI Suma and CPO Amrutha made the session practical and powerful. Students learned how to recognise online abuse, stay safe on the internet, and report threats before they escalate.

In an immensely insightful address at the conference in today, Advocate Rachna Tyagi, Legal Counsel at , explained the landmark Supreme Court ruling on Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Material ( ) that merely viewing, possessing, or storing material depicting minors engaged in sexual activity constitutes an offence under the Act. She also elaborated on why the apex court replaced the term ‘child pornography’ with , clarifying that the former implies a degree of consent, whereas the latter more accurately encompasses all forms of child sexual abuse material, including AI-generated content.
