The adverse impact of air pollutants in daily life is a well-established fact nowadays. Thus, raising public awareness of air quality management becomes vital for society. Youth are the pioneers for a better tomorrow. Sensitising them regarding the general air quality problem can bring some real solutions to the issues. Keeping this in mind, Clean Air Asia - India conducted a set of training programs for the youth based on the module developed ‘CLEANING THE AIR: ENGAGING YOUTH IN HOT SPOT ACTION’ in the reputed colleges of the University of Delhi, which also included an interactive session with the expert.

The students responded overwhelmingly to the training sessions. Observing the common interest in air quality issues among students from various academic backgrounds was intriguing. They demonstrated a great interest in air pollution issues and engagement to combat its environmental impact. They even shared insightful, impactful, and powerful quotes such as, ‘Clean Air should be a right, not a luxury!. We believe the youth can play an important role in the management of air quality and spread further awareness among the common people.

Led by Dr Tanmoy Mukherjee, Air Quality Specialist, Bipasha Mukherjee and Sushil Kumar, Program Assistants, the training sessions were packed with learning, engaging, and most of all, increasing awareness of how taking simple steps can make a difference among the youth as we believe ‘Youth are the leaders of tomorrow’.
