On 5th August 2025, our team walked into a nearby slum that morning, carrying eco-friendly pads in our hands and a simple goal in our hearts to talk about periods openly, without any shame.Inside a small community space, women and girls gathered around us. Some smiled softly, some avoided eye contact, and some leaned in with curiosity. We began by sharing why personal hygiene is so important how it safeguards health and how menstruation is not a weakness, but a sign of strength. At first, the place was quiet. But slowly, the walls of hesitation came down. Questions flowed, personal stories surfaced, and we could see the change in their eyes the change that comes with understanding.
We handed out pads made from natural materials that are safe for their bodies and safe for the earth and talked about how something so small can bring comfort and dignity.
That day wasn’t just an awareness session.
It was about building trust, breaking taboos, and planting seeds of change.
Because periods are normal. Hygiene is a necessity. And awareness can transform lives.❤️
