Today a Legal Awareness Session was successfully conducted by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at Janhit Society for Social Welfare, Basti Vikas Kendra, Lal Bagh, Azadpur, Delhi. The Session was facilitated by Honorable Judges of the Delhi High Court along with a group of advocates from DLSA.
Around 200 beneficiaries from marginalized sections of society participated in the Session and shared their individual and social issues. The Honorable Judges sensitized the community about their legal rights, the process of obtaining legal aid, and the facilities available under the State Legal Services Authority for weaker sections. They also provided references and guidance on how victims can avail benefits and services from the Legal Services Authority. In addition, the Judges emphasized the social duties and responsibilities of community members.
The Honorable Judges and the DLSA team also visited the Lal Bagh slum area and interacted directly with community members to understand the prevailing social issues and challenges faced by them.
On this occasion, Dr. B. Sagar, President, and Mr. Anand Kumar Azad, CEO, Janhit Society for Social Welfare, warmly welcomed the Honorable Judges and the DLSA team. They briefed the dignitaries about the organization’s activities and its long-standing association with Delhi Legal Services Authority in creating legal awareness among underprivileged communities.
The program concluded with Dr. B. Sagar expressing sincere gratitude to the Honorable Judges and DLSA for providing this valuable opportunity and for empowering and sensitizing the community through legal awareness.
