Aasraa Trust Aasraa is an educational trust established in 2009, working towards empowering underserved children.

For the past 13 years, Aasraa has worked with society’s most underprivileged and vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Dehradun. It is not just a charity but a vehicle for empowerment through education, skills training, nutrition, healthcare and shelter homes. Starting with street-level mobilization, Aasraa uses a multi-faceted approach that prepares children for mainstream education a

nd transition to higher studies & skills training. Aasraa is certified by the National Institute of Open Schooling and works with the Education Department of Uttarakhand to improve the quality of education at 9 government schools. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused and special needs children.

When talent meets opportunity, extraordinary things happen!

Vaishnavi, a resident of our shelter home and a student at Government Girls Inter College, Rajpur Road, under the guidance of international coach, Dr. Harendra Singh Chaudhary, led the India U-17 Girls Kabaddi Team to a Gold Medal at the 10th Indo-Nepal School Sports Championship 2026 against Nepal.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to the entire school fraterniety for their invaluable support towards this achievement.

We were honoured to host Mr. Anurag Tiwari from the Azim Premji Foundation for an enriching professional development session with our teachers.

The session focused on strengthening conceptual understanding, exploring priority content areas in Science, and inspiring meaningful classroom practices that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and deep learning.
