We're an NGO working to clean Dehradun through effective and replicable solid waste management models, community engagement and empowerment, and strong govt and corporate partnerships. Our team in Dehradun runs multiple programs simultaneously:
* We’re building Model Wards for cleanliness in Doon’s Racecourse ( #21) and Harrawala ( #97) areas, supported by Lal Family Foundation.
* We’ve built Uttar
akhand’s first Material Recovery Facility dedicated to boosting Doon’s plastic waste recycling rate and by training and improving the livelihoods of waste pickers. This program is supported by UNDP, Coca-Cola, DMC, & UEPPCB.
* We’ve partnered with Tetra Pak India to build Dehradun’s first recycling market for used beverage cartons by working with bulk generators, scrap dealers, and waste pickers.
* We’ve partnered with MakeMyTrip and Uttarakhand Tourism to transform Sahastradhara waterfalls into a zero-waste tourist destination with its own localized waste management system.
* Our Green Gurukul program is focused on simplifying solid waste management education for schools. We train teachers on how to use our toolkit to teach students the basics or recycling and the environment through interactive activities and learning sessions.
