The most undervalued activity in a child's life are extracurricular activities. Traditional schooling is insufficient for their development. Extracurricular activities have a significant impact on overall mental and physical health, development, and well-being. When academics and extracurricular activities are combined, a well-rounded individual with social skills emerges rather than one with only bookish knowledge. Sports, music, dancing, and board games like chess are just a few examples. Our NGO, Yuvati, has planned weekly workshops for children in which we will teach them how to make art and crafts out of waste items and engage them in the process.
Engaging in these kinds of activities has several perks, including aiding in effective time management as the youngster learns to balance his hobby or any other activity with his schoolwork. They learn to schedule their days, when to do what, how to manage their time, and so on. It facilitates the child's adoption of new pals. Their social connection improves, and they gain more self-assurance. It improves their ability to think creatively. The spirit of the team, or teamwork, improves. They will be able to cooperate with anybody in the future. Physical health and mental health also improve when children engage in these activities.
When a child participates in extracurricular activities, he or she develops new abilities that may be applied in everyday life. It also aids intellectual growth by improving attention and organisational abilities. We will work as a team to assist children in creating beautiful art and crafts from waste materials on a weekly basis. It is a type of activity that may be done at home. Art from waste is a fun method to recycle and reuse objects that might otherwise wind up in the trash. We've all heard about recycling, but how many of us put it into action on a daily basis? The most typical objects that end up in the garbage are polythene bags, plastic bottles, newspapers, empty cans, wrappers, and packing boxes. However, garbage and waste materials can be put to better use and that’s what we are going to teach the children. This is our small step towards helping in waste material management and children welfare.
