Training Course in Natural Heritage (TCNH) 🌿 Organized by in collaboration with ITEC & Ministry of External Affairs kicks off! Inaugurated by Dr. Ruchi Badola, Dean of WII, in the presence of Dr. G. S. Bharadwaj, Director of WII, and course officials.

19 participants from 12 countries🌎 are joining this 2 week adventure, exploring World Heritage Convention & Heritage Management, followed by field visits to India's Natural and cultural sites! 🏞️

India's 44th World Heritage Site - Maratha Military Landscapes of India - was nominated yesterday demonstrating the extraordinary fortification and military system envisioned by the Maratha rulers through a nuanced understanding of nature - the landscape, terrain, and physiographic characteristics of the landscape from islands, the Konkan coast, the Sahyadri hills and forests and over across the Deccan Plateau to the Eastern Ghats in the Indian peninsula.

Facilitated by the ASI, GHNP Ambassadors and Ecozone Stakeholders as part of the visit planned by WII-C2C and the HPFD visited the iconic WHS of Taj Mahal and were told how the architectural planning acknowledges and aligns with the natural landscape.

As part of the Exposure Visit for GHNP Ambassadors and Ecozone Stakeholders organized by WII-C2C and the HPFD, the participants visited the WHS of Fatehpur Sikri learning of history-shaping events, the influence of geography on culture and the importance of appreciating the linkages between nature and culture under the guidance of experts from ASI.

On the 1st day of the 'Exposure Visit of GHNP Ambassadors and Ecozone Stakeholders' organized by WII-C2C and the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, youth , community and forest department representatives from the WHS of Great Himalayan National Park connected with DFO and field staff of Keoladeo NP, also a WHS, learning about the management of Keoladeo's extraordinary avian assemblage.
