Dehradun, December 4, 2025 – The Uttradhan Non-profit Organisation officially inaugurated its principal office today in Dehrakhas, Dehradun, marking a new phase in its dual mission: preserving the ecological heritage of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand and advocating for comprehensive legal reforms for modern marriage. The ceremony was led by the organisation's Governor, Smt. Aarushi Sundriyal, who addressed the gathering to detail the strategy for change in India’s marital and domestic legal landscape.
Governor Aarushi Sundriyal's Vision: Transforming Marriage into a Stress-Free Partnership
Addressing the attendees, Governor Aarushi Sundriyal declared her organisation's commitment to tackling the anxieties and disputes currently undermining marital life:
"On this occasion, I want to make it clear that Uttradhan is supporting a progressive vision focused on building a framework for a dispute-free modern marriage in India. Uttarakhand is the first state in India to implement the Uniform Civil Code, which is a good thing, but now those in live-in relationships have obtained legal protection, due to which the interest among youth in opting for live-in relationships over marriage is increasing. This is a matter of concern for society and is leading to the infringement of women's interests. The main reason for the growing interest in live-in relationships instead of marriage among the youth is the old, antiquated marriage laws, which require massive reform. Our mission is to ensure mental stress-free unions and guarantee financial and emotional security for both genders by advocating for necessary legal reforms, specifically by promoting a comprehensive modern Prenuptial Agreement."
