This International Women’s Day, we celebrate strength that rose from pain, courage that refused to break, and women who turned their survival into power.
At Gorkha Women’s Welfare Forum, many of the women standing with us today once came to us as victims of r**e, domestic violence, and unimaginable trauma. They arrived carrying fear, silence, and broken confidence.
But within this community, they found a safe space, sisterhood, and the strength to begin again.
Today, these very women are living independentdignified lives. They are not just survivors — they are leaders, supporters, and protectors for other women who are still finding their voice.
This is what empowerment looks like.
Not just surviving… but reclaiming life.
On this Women’s Day, we honour every woman who chose to rise, and every hand that helped lift another. Because when women support women, healing becomes a movement.
