A delegation of the All India Nepali Scheduled Castes Association, Central Committee, Darjeeling, led by President Shri Buddhibir Sarki, met Shri Pankaj Kumar Singh, Interlocutor for Administrative and Political Solutions for the Hill areas of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Mirik, Terai and Dooars.
The delegation apprised the Interlocutor of the constitutional safeguards, rights and entitlements of the Nepali Scheduled Castes community and highlighted concerns regarding the dilution of these rights under various administrative arrangements in the Hills. The Association strongly emphasized that any future political or administrative settlement must fully protect the constitutional rights, safeguards and representation of the Nepali Scheduled Castes community, without any infringement or ambiguity.
