A Small Note of Thanks from GCDF
To all the amazing people who’ve been part of our journey—whether you’re still running a center, have closed it down, returned the computers, or simply moved on—we just want to say thank you.
Introducing computers into the lives of our children in the hills wouldn’t have been possible without you. And the truth is, it’s never really been about GCDF. It’s always been about you—the community members and volunteers who took this idea and made it real. You’re the ones who opened your doors, taught the basics, guided the children, and kept things going. We’ve just been the medium.
I haven’t been able to follow up with each of you as regularly as I’d hoped—family has needed me more these past months, and that will likely continue for a while. But I’ve never stopped believing in what we started together. I know that spirit is still alive in many of you.
We’re also incredibly grateful to our friends, family, and well-wishers who helped us take these computers to far-off corners of Darjeeling—your support has meant the world.
As we take some time to reflect and regroup, we hope to return with a stronger, more evolved version of this work—possibly integrating AI, offering professional certifications, and building something more sustainable for the future.
But no matter what direction we take, our hope is simple: that the work continues in your hands. Like we said from the very beginning—these were never GCDF’s centers. They were always yours.
Thank you, truly,
Binayak Dewan
