Adolescent awareness camp...

Adolescence is a critical period during which significant personality reorganization occurs. The suddenness and rapid pace, with which the changes take place in the body and mind of adolescents, generate a number of problems and special needs which they find difficult to understand on their own.

Understanding the importance of adolescence awareness specially in remote population, disha has been organising adolescent awareness camp since last many years.

This year around 525 students from 3 prominent schools from aamgaon(risama) and darekasa participated in this awareness camp. Eminent paediatricians and adolescent counsellors Dr Rajiv Mohta and Dr. Prajakta Kaduskar from nagpur discussed about health, hygiene, mindset and guided them how they can chanalize their potentials and how they can safeguard themselves from various peer pressures, wrongful deeds and bad habits. The topics discussed emphasis on protection of girls as well as on raising and grooming boys in a better manner.

" बेटी बचाओ,और बेटों को सही चीज समझाओ" was the motto of this awareness camp. As both protection, and growth of girls and boys are equally important.

Students from Swami vivekanand public school presented a beautiful skit on Problems faced by the young generation, and how to redirect things for a better future.

The program was graced by Former MLC Shri Rajendra Jain, who inaugurated newly constructed infrastructure. And other prominent members and wellwishers of Disha. The program was concluded by an interactive session by the counsellors and doctors giving insight to each and every personal query the children had.
