The 8th Jal Abhishek, organised by Kunkalli Shourya Prathishthan, was held at the Chieftains Memorial to honour the 16 Chieftains of the historic 1583 Cuncolim Uprising. The programme featured the ceremonial Jal Abhishek, cultural performances, a historical street play, and the presentation of the Dharmrakshak and Dharmaprasarak Puraskars. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from descendants of the Chieftains, temple representatives, historians, and the public, reaffirming the commitment to preserving Goa’s rich historical legacy.
