D.M.C Home

D.M.C Home A home (Orphange) for children in need It all started in a small rented home nestled in the hills of Kotagiri in South India, housing 50 needy children. R.

These were the humble beginnings that saw the inception of DMC Home way back in 1975. The children, who were either orphans or semi orphans, were under the care of Rev. Theophilus and Mrs. Christina Theophilus whose Divine Calling was to start the Home. In recognition of their effort, they were given a land of 80 cents by the Government to construct, establish and maintain the DMC Home. Thereafter

, in 1980, the premises was relocate to Coonoor where the work commenced from scratch, all over again. Today, more than 33 years later, over 400 children have been cared for, in the Home. The children who have been in DMC have been from broken homes, extremely poor families, children of terminally ill parents, abandoned children, and a few that are pure orphans. Over the years, the Home has been witness to many a transition… What began within the confines of mud wall shelters is now a moderately comfortable accommodation with God's Grace. But what remains the same is the care, concern and the core philosophy of providing a home for the homeless
