The first level screening of the 21st edition of the Golden Leaf India Awards: Southern Tea Competition (TGLIA) was successfully held on 28th March 2026.

Alongside TGLIA, a Specialty Tea Competition was also conducted as an exclusive segment to celebrate the diversity and craftsmanship of South India’s finest teas.

This year witnessed an impressive participation, with 161 entries from 38 Estates/Companies representing diverse agro-climatic regions, other minor tea-growing areas, and Bough/Leaf Factories for TGLIA. The STC segment received 61 entries from 23 Estates/Companies.

Teas qualifying the first level of screening will undergo further evaluation for pesticide residue parameters and heavy metals at the NABL-accredited laboratory of the UPASI Tea Research Foundation.
Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase and market their premium teas at the TGLIA Special Tea Auction, scheduled to be held in April through the Cochin Auction Platform.

We’re excited to announce the winner of the UPASI TRF Centenary Year Logo Design Competition!

A huge number of entries were received, and through a rigorous three-stage evaluation process, the jury panel carefully assessed all submissions based on five predefined selection criteria.

We are delighted to declare Dr. Francis Lijo Mendez as the winner of the competition.
