When thousands gather, waste is almost inevitable.
Whether it becomes pollution - or a resource - is a choice.
At College Post Graduate and Research Institute, Pune, students, faculty, researchers, and staff chose to ensure that the aftermath of the Wari entered the recycling stream - not the environment.
Through the “Nirmal Wari - Swachh Wari” Plastic Collection Drive, organised by the NSS Unit and Green Campus Committee of Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute in collaboration with Rotary Green Society and the Bisleri Plastic Recycling Initiative, approximately 140 kg of plastic bottles were collected, segregated, and handed over for scientific processing - supporting responsible waste management and circular economy practices.
Because lasting change isn't measured by one event.
It's measured by what people choose to do after it.
And climate action isn't always about starting something new.
Sometimes, it's about refusing to leave a problem for someone else.
This is the kind of student-led action -HEI encourages - where campus initiatives create impact beyond institutional boundaries.
What we leave behind is shaped by the choices we make today.
