Lions Club of Colva is pleased to extend its support to devotees attending the Fama – Feast of Menino Jesus at Colva Church.

As part of our service initiative, wheelchairs and electric buggies have been arranged to ferry the elderly, differently-abled, pregnant women, and physically challenged devotees to the church premises. Additionally, mineral water will be provided to devotees waiting in queues for blessings.

We express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Warren Alemao , dynamic social worker and youth icon, for his generous financial assistance and continued commitment towards community welfare. 🙏

To mark the 79th Independence Day, the Club organised a drawing competition at Govt. Primary School, Colva 🎨

Over 40 enthusiastic students participated across three groups:
Classes I–II: Colour filling of a given image
Classes III–IV: Drawing the Indian Flag
Classes V–VII: Theme – Independence Day

All materials like paper, colours, pencils, were provided by the Club, ensuring every child could participate and express their creativity. The young artists filled the day with patriotism, imagination, and vibrant colours 🌟

The winners were honoured during the Independence Day celebration the next day, making the occasion even more memorable.

Through this initiative, Lions Club of Colva continues to nurture talent, encourage creativity, and inspire love for the nation among the youth 🇮🇳✨

On the occasion of International Youth Day, Lions Club of Colva, in association with Ln. Adrian Torres (DC for UNSDG Promotion), organized a motivating talk for the Class X students of Infant Jesus High School. With their board exams just six months away, the session focused on time management, motivation and practical strategies to help them navigate challenges with confidence and achieve great success.

Ln. Adrian Torres also visited Lions Club of Colva, emphasizing the importance of localising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our district has adopted Goal 3: Good Health & Well-being and Goal 7: Affordable & Clean Energy, reinforcing our commitment towards a brighter and sustainable future

Lions Club of Colva organised a free eye check-up camp for the community, where a total of 123 patients were examined. Spectacles were made available at a very nominal cost, ensuring accessibility for all. This initiative was part of our ongoing commitment to service and improving community health. The camp was further marked by the official visit of ZC Ln. Jesus Da Costa, whose presence added great encouragement to our efforts. Together, we continue to serve with vision, compassion, and dedication.

Lions Club of Colva, in association with NAVE MARG Foundation, successfully conducted Little Stars Vision Screening Camp for school children, ensuring that young learners get the care they need for a brighter future. 🌟

📍 Infant Jesus High School, Colva
Pre-primary: 77 students screened → 17 referred for further check-up
Classes 1–3: 169 students screened → 46 referred

📍 St. Aloysius High School, Benaulim
Pre-primary: 39 students screened → 13 referred
Class 2: 24 students screened → 7 referred
Class 3: 36 students screened → 8 referred

Good vision plays a vital role in a child’s education, confidence, and overall development. By identifying concerns early, we are helping children step into a world of clearer possibilities.

Lions Club of Colva had the privilege of felicitating Mr. Clinton Fernandes, the young football coach of Colva, for his dedication and passion towards guiding the next generation of athletes. The felicitation was done by District Chairperson MJF Ln. Dr. Celco, who appreciated Mr. Fernandes’ efforts in shaping young minds through sportsmanship and hard work. 👏⚽

Dr. Celco also delivered an insightful talk on impactful projects, including vision screening for school children and financial literacy for young minds, highlighting the importance of service to the community.

This year marks a historic milestone for the Lions Club of Colva, our Golden Jubilee, celebrating 50 years of serving our community with pride, compassion and unity.

On this momentous occasion, we also welcomed our new leadership team for the year ahead:
