It is not possible to attain realisation without the assistance of a guru. Guru: A realized person; the Dispeller of Darkness. Guru Vethathiri maharishi is one such person. He was born on the year 1911, at Guduvanchery, a hamlet near Chennai. He has realized the Divine State and guided the others. He showed the way for attaining World Peace though individual peace. He propounded the system of SKY

Yoga, which contains the essence of philosophy, as well as the Principles of Advaitha and Raja Yoga. He is called Thathuvagnani on account of his erudition in Science and Philosophy. He advocated the teaching of Kundalini Yoga to the Women also and realized the greatness of women. He designed the system of Simplified Physical exercises, Kaya Kalpa, Meditation and Kundalini yoga, to enable the individuals find peace. He put forth certain proposals for lasting peace all over the world as well as, a One World Federation Government(OWFG). He has authored more than 70 books in Tamil and English, besides 1800 poems in Tamil. He founded the WCSC in 1958, which works for World Peace. He has traveled all over the world for spreading his message among the people. He attained MahaSamadhi on 28.03.2006
