LIFE Trust–India Internship Programme
As part of the LIFE Trust–India Internship Programme, our interns visited the Rameswaram Ornamental Spider Conservation Project site.
During the field visit, they visited Poecilotheria spider habitats and took part in a nocturnal survey, gaining hands-on field experience. They also learned about the island ecosystem, including sand dunes, its conservation and coastal vegetation. Dr Daniel explained the project's objectives, field activities, planning, and implementation at our field station.
The interns also participated in a tree planting activity, planting tamarind (Tamarindus indica), one of the important host tree species for Poecilotheria spiders.
A valuable field experience that combined learning, conservation, and hands-on participation.
