On 2nd weekend of July 2026, DoctorNet India team came together for the 4th annual meet - with an intent of learning, bonding, getting inspiration.
As our team works on making healthcare accessible to the disadvantaged people, the sessions could have been on the 'How'.
But, we intentionally focussed on the 'Why'.
Rather than focusing on the disease, we focussed on the determinants.
Instead of theory, we listened to the rich experiences of our resource persons.
- Dr Bhagya (Sakhi Trust) with 25+ years of experience rehabilitating girls from the Devadasi system, which is still practised in Karnataka.
- Dr Guru Nagarajan (CMC Vellore) with 30+ years of experience in rehabilitation for the differently abled.
- Dr Sreedevi (Coimbatore Cancer Foundation) on empathy, communication and palliative care experience.
- Dr Ajith's (ASHWINI) tribal community based mental health experience.
- Mr Thanaraj Thanaraj Radhai on tribal people's culture and health seeking behavior.
- Psychologist Nalini Kannan Ms Nalini's self care sessions.
The meet strengthened the mutual bonding, energized the team to continue to bridge the information and empathy gaps in healthcare with deeper perspectives and empathy.
