Built between two hills, the Pada Draa Check Dam began holding 2.5 crore litres of water from which170 families now benefit as 80 wells and tube wells are recharged.
1,100 acres of farmland receive permanent irrigation.
Rabi and Kharif crops grow with certainty!
This transformation was made possible with the support of Shapoorji Palloji Pandoh Takali Highway Private Limited (₹11 lakh contribution) and ₹4.2 lakh contributed by the villagers themselves.

In many villages, the journey towards water security began with the courage of women who refused to accept water scarcity as their future. They stepped forward, approached Aakar Charitable Trust and believed their villages could become water surplus. They convinced their families, mobilised their communities and took the lead in building a better future.

Today, their determination has helped create 1380 water bodies including 825 check dams and 555 ponds, transforming the lives of more than 18 lakh people.

This Women’s Day, we celebrate the women and girls who continue to dream big, lead change and transform lives every day.
