Aarti from Chandigarh has been selected for the National Prerna Doot Award 2026.
For over eight years, she has been actively engaged in advancing positive social change through sustained efforts in environmental conservation, social welfare, youth leadership, women empowerment, and cultural and heritage revival. Her work is deeply rooted in the principles of service, sustainability, and spirituality, with a strong focus on motivating youth and women to emerge as responsible leaders and changemakers within their communities.
In the field of environmental protection, she has led numerous plantation drives, plastic management workshops, and large-scale cleanliness campaigns. One of her notable initiatives includes a major cleanup drive at the Chandigarh dumping ground, where a substantial amount of plastic waste was systematically collected and disposed of responsibly, reinforcing the importance of eco-conscious living.
Her contribution to social welfare includes organizing multiple blood donation camps, facilitating the collection of hundreds of units of blood for patients in need. Through the literacy campaign โMera Hastakshar Meri Pehchaan,โ she empowered over 200 women to adopt signatures in place of thumb impressions, promoting dignity, confidence, and self-reliance.
A strong advocate for womenโs safety, she organized several self-defence training camps for girls and women across Chandigarh in collaboration with the SWAYAM Team of Chandigarh Police, including a distinctive self-defence session conducted in saree to challenge stereotypes and build confidence.
In the area of cultural and heritage revival, she has played a key role in initiatives such as the restoration of the historic Bachhretu Fort in Himachal Pradesh and the organization of youth-centric cultural programs like โEk Tilak Ahilya ke Naamโ and โYoga in Saree,โ fostering a deeper connection between youth and Indiaโs cultural values.
As the first woman President of DES-MDRC, Panjab University, and a UGC NEP SAARTHI Ambassador, she has mentored and inspired thousands of young individuals to actively participate in nation-building through education, leadership, and social responsibility.
Her work also extends to spiritual and mental well-being through meditation sessions, bhajan sandhyas, and naam simran programs. A major milestone has been the successful organization of the Vrindavan Yuva Utsav in 2024 and 2025, uniting youth from diverse backgrounds in a celebration of devotion, culture, and holistic development.
Through her dedicated efforts, she has positively impacted more than 20,000 individuals across Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, consistently working towards building an inclusive, empowered, and value-driven society grounded in service and sustainability.
