📍 NSS Special Camp – Day 4 | “ദിശ” 🌱

Day 4 of the ദിശ NSS Special Camp was filled with compassion, responsibility, and learning. The visit to Abhayam Old Age Home brought moments of care and connection, while cleaning activities reflected a strong sense of social responsibility. Along with the regular routines—assembly, sramadhanam, expert talk, and cultural fest—the day truly embodied the spirit of service and togetherness. 💙✨

The NSS Unit No. 156 of Ideal Arts and Science College, Cherpulassery observed World AIDS Day on 1 December 2025 with the theme “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response.” The program began with a welcome speech by Mr. Arunkumar P, NSS Programme Officer, followed by the presidential address delivered by Mr. Mohammed Unais P, Academic Coordinator. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sainul Abideen K, Principal of the college. As part of the observance, a Red Ribbon Campaign was conducted to promote awareness on HIV/AIDS, encourage responsible behaviour among students, and express solidarity with people living with HIV. The program successfully raised awareness and highlighted the importance of youth involvement in supporting an informed and stigma-free community.

The NSS unit conducted a two-day Natural Camp at Silent Valley National Park from 05/10/2025 to 06/10/2025. The camp aimed to promote environmental awareness and conservation among volunteers. As part of the activities, participants engaged in removing exotic species to support ecological balance, followed by an interactive meeting at the Range Forest Office to understand forest protection measures. The team also experienced a night camp that enhanced teamwork and nature learning. On the second day, volunteers participated in morning trekking, exploring the rich biodiversity of Silent Valley. The camp concluded successfully, providing participants with valuable insights into conservation and the importance of preserving natural habitats.

The District Level Padyatra titled “Sardar @150 Unity March – Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat” was organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Palakkad in association with NSS Palakkad on 4th November 2025 at Fort Maidan, Palakkad. The event, held in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, aimed to promote unity, integrity, and self-reliance among youth. NSS volunteers from various institutions participated enthusiastically in the march, including members of NSS Unit No.156 of Ideal Arts and Science College, Cherpulassery. The participants carried messages of national integration and self-reliant India. The program concluded with a unity pledge, honoring Sardar Patel’s vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
