Rotary Club of Madras Next Gen is a young club chartered in the year 2013. The club was the the 21st Club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Madras. It was set up with the vision of involving the younger generation to make a difference in the community we live in. The club was started with 28 young Rotarians (charter members) who had committed themselves to the Rotary movement. The club has grown to

a current strength of 45+ members in the past 3 years. Our members come from a variety of business and professional backgrounds. What sets us apart is the average age of the club - around 28. Though we consider ourselves the young privileged lot, Rotary gives us a platform to evolve as individuals, engage with one another and enable the society to contribute towards the betterment of the world.

One of Indian education's most experienced voices joined us for our first speaker meeting of the year!

Nandakumar V. spent 7 years leading the Tamil Nadu Association of Matriculation Schools — representing 9,000+ schools across the state. He's held senior roles at Dhirubhai Ambani International, Ecole Mondiale, and Oberoi International, and founded CBSE's first Nodal Centre in Southeast Asia.

We asked him the question every parent quietly Googles at 2am: which board is actually right for my child?

What followed was an hour of IB vs IGCSE, Montessori's real merits, how the brain learns, and a case for why the good school near home might outweigh the "right" board across the city.

We wrapped up an incredible Rotary Next Gen year in the most Next Gen way possible—with a Mystery Fireside.

No one knew where they were going, who they’d meet, or what the evening had in store. But that’s what made it so special. New conversations, new friendships, shared laughter, and nine hosts who opened their homes to create memorable experiences across the city.

As we close out 2025–26, we’re grateful for every member who said yes to new ideas, embraced the surprises, and made this year one to remember.
A huge shout out to the hosts and leadership for making this happen.

Marking a significant milestone, the 3rd Child Rescue Centre has been inaugurated at Villivakkam Railway Station 🇮🇳

Strategically located at a high-transit point, the centre is designed to identify, assist, and rehabilitate children in vulnerable situations — providing them with immediate care, protection, and access to the right support systems.

This space will function as a safe and responsive intervention point, ensuring that children in need are guided towards safety, dignity, and a better future.

We thank everyone who joined us for the inauguration and supported this initiative — your presence and encouragement continue to strengthen our efforts in creating safer communities for children. 💛

Sunday well spent at Catan Live! 🎲✨

Bringing the world of Catan off the board and into real life — where trades got louder, strategies got sneakier, and alliances changed in seconds 😄

From under-the-table negotiations to building (and breaking 😏) deals, it was incredible to see everyone — kids and adults alike — step into the game and make it their own. No boards, no boundaries… just pure, interactive chaos the Catan way 🔥

And while the deals were intense, the energy off the board was even better — a room full of laughter, connection, and that easy, effortless fellowship we love so much 💛

Ending it all with a relaxed brunch just made it perfect 🌿

A big thank you to our wonderful hosts Shreya, Tanmay, Zahan & Aafia for making this happen — here’s to many more such game-changing afternoons! ✨

Care that reaches where it’s needed most 🤍

At the Next Gen Centre, we are grateful to have Dr. Avinash dedicate his time every week to conduct orthopaedic check-ups for walk-in patients. His consistent effort ensures that quality healthcare is accessible, approachable, and ongoing for the community we serve.

Today, we were able to attend to 10 individuals — each consultation a step towards better mobility, comfort, and well-being. From guidance on pain management to early diagnosis, these sessions are making a real difference, one patient at a time.

Moments like these remind us that impact doesn’t always have to be grand — sometimes, it’s simply about showing up, week after week. ✨

Guiding young minds towards bright futures ✨

The Vocational Services team, along with the District Career Counselling team, conducted a Career Counselling Session on 6th March for students of the Next Gen Center studying in classes 9, 10 and 11.

The session was led by Rtn. Rose Pari and Rtn. Pria Srinivas, who shared valuable insights on choosing the right career path, exploring different opportunities, and making informed decisions for the future. 🎓

It was an engaging and insightful session that encouraged students to think about their goals, interests, and the many possibilities that lie ahead. Moments like these help empower the next generation to dream bigger and plan smarter. 🌟
