National Network For Organ Sharing

National Network For Organ Sharing NNOS is a NGO working in Tamilnadu(India) to improve the quality of human life by maximizing the availability of cadavar organs for transplantation.

NNOS is the acronym for National Network for Organ Sharing. It was started January in 2005. A Group of public-spirited people have come together to pioneer this non-profit trust with the objectives of establishing an organ transplantation network in India. Every year, a few thousands of lives are saved by transplant surgery in this country. Sadly, thousands more are lost waiting for organs that wo

uld have transformed their lives. Besides, living organ sales, in contravention of the law of the land, also get reported. This is because cadaveric transplantation - using organs of dead persons - is at a low level in India. In India, the biggest problem facing the transplant community is the shortage of cadaveric donor organs, due to lack of utilization of the available cadaver organs (from brain dead persons). NNOS was created to help the process of increasing cadaveric transplantaions so that more lives can be saved.
