PHDCCI's 15th International Heritage Tourism Conclave Charts the Future of Heritage Tourism
PHDCCI, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and the Tourism Departments of Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Jharkhand, successfully organized the 15th International Heritage Tourism Conclave on 24 July 2026 at the iconic Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad, under the theme "ख़याल विरासत का."
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedeker (IAS), Additional Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board; Mr. L. Ranjeet Nayak (IFS), Director – Tourism, Government of Telangana; and Mr. Venkatramana R. Hegde, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Representing PHDCCI were Mr. Anil Parashar, Chair – Tourism & Hospitality Committee; Mr. Gautam Jain, Chair – Telangana Chapter; Mr. Sunil Kumar, Co-Chair – Telangana Chapter; Mr. Rajan Sehgal, Co-Chair – Tourism & Hospitality Committee; Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General; and Ms. Shalini S. Sharma, Assistant Secretary General.
The conclave commenced with a classical Perini Natyam performance curated by the Department of Culture, Government of Telangana and witnessed the launch of the 3rd PHDCCI–KPMG Heritage Tourism Report, offering strategic recommendations to strengthen India's heritage tourism ecosystem.
The event featured four engaging thematic sessions on The New Age of Museums, Food is Memory, Shared Heritage, Shared Responsibility, and Tech, AI & the Future of the Past, bringing together eminent policymakers, historians, tourism leaders, hospitality experts, conservationists, and technology innovators to explore the future of heritage tourism.
The conclave reaffirmed PHDCCI's commitment to positioning heritage tourism as a key driver of India's sustainable tourism growth.
