People For Cattle In India - PFCI People for Cattle in India (PFCI) is a NGO formed by the Animal Lovers. PFCI has rescued several Cattle from traffickers with the help of Tamil Nadu Police.

People For Cattle in India (PFCI) is a NGO formed originally in 2012 to control Unlicensed Cattle trafficking and Slaughtering. Over a period of time, PFCI has reached out to help several Dogs, Cats, Horses, Monkeys, Donkeys, Camels, Pigs, Birds, Snakes etc either from cruel treatment & abuse. Several FIRs, PILs, RTIs, Reps have been successfully filed by PFCI. PFCI has been closely working with

various Government, Celebrities, Industrialists, NGOs, SHGs and CBOs for the betterment of the Animals in India. In 10 years of inception, PFCI is recognised as one of the most renowned Animal Welfare organizations of Tamil Nadu and hence we have received immense support from various eminent personalities & Media.

Good News !!

The Greater Chennai Corporation has taken a positive step by expanding the number of authorised community dog feeding locations to 40 across the city.

These designated feeding spots aim to ensure that community dogs are fed in a safe, organised, and hygienic manner while reducing conflicts between residents and animal feeders. By providing approved locations, the initiative also promotes cleaner public spaces, supports vaccination and sterilisation programmes, and encourages responsible community care.

The feeding points are spread across several parts of Chennai, including Royapuram, Kolathur, Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Koyambedu, Besant Nagar, Tiruvanmiyur, Perungudi, Palavakkam, Neelankarai, Thoraipakkam, Karapakkam, Sholinganallur, and other zones, with all 15 Greater Chennai Corporation zones expected to be covered.

This is a welcome initiative that balances animal welfare, public hygiene, and civic harmony.

P.S.: In 2025, People For Cattle in India (PFCI) had written to the authorities recommending the creation of designated community dog feeding zones across Chennai. We are pleased to see this important step being taken in the interest of both community animals and the public.
