Curtain Raiser Event - GCC Connect 2026
The International Tamil Engineers Forum (ITEF) formally unveiled GCC Connect 2026 at an exclusive Curtain Raiser evening held on 15 February 2026 at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel, Kuwait.
The evening brought together senior government representatives, industry leaders, global ITEF leadership, sponsors, and members of the Tamil engineering diaspora in Kuwait and Middle East, for a structured and dignified launch of the upcoming pan-regional conference.
His Excellency Sheikh Malik Al-Jaber Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, Head of Sustainable Development Initiatives, Kuwait, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and presided over the ceremonial unveiling of GCC Connect 2026.
The event was further elevated by the presence and addresses of distinguished dignitaries:
• Mr. Sivarajah Ramanathan, Mission Director & Chief Executive Officer, StartupTN, Government of Tamil Nadu
• Dr. T. M. Gunaraja, Chairman, MIET Group of Institutions & Former President, Institute of Engineers India
• Mr. Senthil Kumar Ganesan, Chief Operating Officer, HEISCO
• Mr. Eid Shaman Al-Mutairi, Governorate Director (Retd.), Roads and Networks Department, Ministry of Public Works, Kuwait

In a defining moment of the evening, the Chief Guest ceremonially raised the curtain to officially launch GCC Connect 2026, followed by the formal release of the Conference Brochure.
The platform was further strengthened by the presence of ITEF Presidents from all five GCC countries, who collectively reaffirmed their commitment, regional solidarity, and active collaboration in delivering GCC Connect 2026, positioning the conference as a collective GCC initiative.
Conclusively, the Curtain Raiser signalled structured collaboration between industry, government, and the global Tamil engineering diaspora, setting the stage for GCC Connect 2026 in September.
