Restoring nature. Strengthening communities. Building a sustainable future.

Through Project Valam (2025–2026), we focused on promoting environmental sustainability and strengthening community well-being through 2 targeted eco-interventions.

The project supported ecological restoration, improved local environmental conditions, and strengthened community-owned natural resources. By encouraging sustainable practices and responsible use of natural resources, the initiative is helping communities build greater environmental resilience.

More than restoring ecosystems, Project Valam is about empowering communities to become stewards of their natural surroundings—creating healthier environments and a more sustainable future for generations to come.

Beyond Walls, Bringing Learning Closer
In the remote villages of Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, a classroom can be as simple as an open veranda—but the opportunities it creates can be limitless.
With the support of Tata Electronics, United Way Chennai is extending learning opportunities through Act to Transform to children in remote communities through 200 learning centres, each supporting 15–25 children.
Here, teachers go beyond textbooks—helping children with homework, encouraging extracurricular activities, creating opportunities to learn and explore, and providing nutrition support to nurture their overall well-being.
Because every child deserves access to learning, no matter how far their village is.
Taking education beyond walls. Creating possibilities beyond boundaries.

Building Inclusive Spaces, Empowering Every Child

Inclusive support for children with special needs is not just a project for us—it's a commitment to creating opportunities where every child can learn, grow, and thrive with dignity.

As part of this initiative, we have identified four special schools across Chennai for holistic institutional development, focusing on both infrastructure enhancement and capacity building to create sustainable, inclusive learning environments.

Yesterday marked a proud milestone as we inaugurated a newly constructed G+1 school building at Kumaran Special School, Ennore. This new facility will provide a safer, more accessible, and nurturing space for children with special needs, supporting their educational and developmental journey.

This is more than the inauguration of a building—it is the beginning of new possibilities for the children, educators, and families who are part of the Kumaran Special School community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our CSR Donor who contributed to making this vision a reality. Together, we continue to build inclusive communities where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
