Chennai Computer Museum 'Computer Museum Society' aims to establish Computer Museums in India. 1st project is Chennai Computer Museum with 10,000 sq.mtrs of built up area. B. C. D.

He gathered support from friends by email and messages in social media (Facebook, LinkedIn and IBM PC Readers group). A group of 9 professionals formed an informal group. Under the banner of Microcode Techbridge Foundation (MTF), meetings were held to explore strategies to involve Industries, Government and Public to establish CCM. These professionals did a study of various schemes of Government of India and Tamilnadu State Government. Informal meetings were held with Academic Institutions, IT Professionals, Government Officers, Academicians, Charted Accountants, Lawyers, Builders, Non-Profit Organizations, and abroad based Indians to decide an appropriate model for the proposed Entity / Organization to take charge of the CCM project. This resulted in formation of COMPUTER MUSEUM SOCIETY, (CMS), an India based non-profit organization under Society Act of Government of India. It was registered in Chennai under Tamil Nadu Government Act. The CCM is taken up as the first project of CMS.
2.0 MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE / BOARD
Presently there are 8 founder members in the executive committee. In addition, five individual life members had joined with voting power in 2019. 3.0 INITIAL ADVISORY TEAM
A panel of Honorary Advisors and Consultants is being formed. The Project report is prepared by an independent Project Consultant, Mr K G Kumar, Former Director General of NCSM & Director, Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Bangalore. Computer Museum Society (CMS) is a non-profit organization founded by a team of professionals. CMS has been launched exclusively for building Computer Museums. When the proposed Chennai Computer Museum becomes India’s first Computer Museum, India will become the 18th country with Computer Museums.
