Clay art is an interest our learners often explore at the farm. Learning how to shape, mould, and create with their hands, they bring their imaginations to life.

During Vinayagar Chaturthi, their clay work took a festive turn as they made their own Vinayagar idols. The same material, the same starting point, and so many different interpretations.

Each Ganesha turned out wonderfully different, carrying a little of the imagination and personality of the learner who made it.

A lovely coming together of something they enjoy learning and a festival they were excited to celebrate!

What does it mean to care for an animal beyond simply loving one?

Our learners visited the Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary with their Local History facilitator, Ashwin, where conversations moved beyond what the dispensary does to why places like this need to exist.

They observed the animals, listened to their stories and spoke about care, abandonment, responsibility and the role people play in an animal’s wellbeing.

For young learners, sensitivity is built in moments like these. By noticing, asking questions and beginning to understand lives and experiences beyond their own.

They’d also shared their gratitude with a handmade Thank You painting which symbolises that our hearts are filled with animals ❤️

Why is parkour part of the schedule at Quest?

Because crawling, balancing, jumping, landing and navigating obstacles ask children to understand their bodies in motion.

Parkour works on coordination, spatial awareness, strength, balance and confidence, while constantly asking one practical question: How do I get from here to there?

And sometimes, the answer starts on all fours!

Learners use their journals to record what they’ve been doing, thinking about and becoming interested in along the way.

And during our recent parent catch up, these pages helped parents look back at the journey with their child and better understand their experiences, interests and learning process.

Ganesh Chaturthi brought everyone around the table for a little festive making. 🌺

Our learners made kozhakattais together, working the dough, adding the filling and learning the gentle art of shaping each one by hand.

Some found their shape quickly, some took a few loving tries, and every single one carried its maker’s touch.

A morning of sticky fingers, shared help and little discoveries, experiencing a festival through its food, traditions and the simple joy of making something together. ❤️

There are many ways to learn patience. Making samosas from scratch might be one of the tastier ones.

From procuring the ingredients within the budget, preparing the filling and rolling the dough to attempting that deceptively simple triangle fold, our learners did it all themselves.

There was measuring, teamwork, figuring things out and probably a few samosas that were geometrically… creative.😊
But when you’ve made it yourself, everything tastes amazing!

Just another day of learning at Quest, served hot.
