The CPB International Photography Open Call — Edition 3 is now open! 🌍📸

In partnership with SIGMA India, we invite photographers and lens-based artists from around the world to share the images and visual stories they believe need to be seen now.

Highlights

✨ No prescribed theme - Open to receiving work from all genres and thematics
📸 Single images & photographic series accepted
👑 Entries reviewed by an established jury of photographers, artists, curators, gallerists and art professionals from around the world.
🖼️ Selected work will be exhibited in a public space in Chennai, with further opportunities for digital showcases, travelling exhibitions and print & online features.
🏆New Prizes being offered - SIGMA Lenses!

Graced by Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand and Ms. Madhura Visveswaran, In Dialogue with Nature was successfully launched at Avtar Foundation for the Arts as part of Contemporary Now Edition 3!

Presented by Chennai Photo Biennale Foundation and WWF-India, the exhibition brings together a remarkable group of lens-based artists from across India whose works explore ecology, conservation and the beauty of our living planet.

Following its successful debut at India Art Fair, the exhibition comes to Chennai with a collection of limited-edition photographic prints and collectible portfolios, while raising support for art and conservation.

The collaboration is made possible through the generous support of Dr. Pheroza J. Godrej and Tarana Sawhney, and the exhibition is hosted by Jaiveer Johal at Avtar Foundation for the Arts.

In Dialogue with Nature is now open until 23 August 2026. Bring your friends and family along. In case you are unable to make it, please DM us for the catalogue.

New workshops have just been added to our World Photography Day celebration! 📸✨

As part of the celebration, CPB Prism is hosting two hands-on workshops that invite young participants to explore photography through cutting, layering, stitching, and storytelling.

🎨 Photo Collage Workshop | Ages 7–12

Create your own imaginative visual story by combining printed photographs with drawings, colours, shapes, patterns, and text.

🕙 10:00 AM–11:30 AM

🧵 Photo Embroidery Workshop | Ages 13–18

Transform your black-and-white portrait using simple embroidery stitches, expressive line work, colour, and texture.

Each participant will be photographed by the CPB team and receive an A4 print to embroider.

Moving beyond traditional publishing models, the discussion considers self-publishing, independent publishing ecosystems, design, circulation, and the communities that books build.🙌🏻

 Featuring Brendan Embser (Senior Editor, Aperture), Indu Antony (Multidisciplinary Artist and Co-founder, Kanike Studio), and Balaji Maheshwar (Independent Photographer and Filmmaker), and moderated by Shuchi Kapoor (Co-founder, Chennai Photo Biennale Foundation), the panel reflects on why photobooks continue to matter and what kind of futures they make possible.✨

Step inside our Darkroom Open House, have your portrait made using a large format camera, experience pinhole photography, bring your film camera for a free assessment, browse a curated collection of photobooks, meet master printer Karthick from Inspire Madras, join our Analog Meet-up and end the weekend with a 16mm movie screening.📸

Whether you’re new to analogue photography or have been working with film for years, we invite you to spend the weekend exploring and enjoying photography.

Please note: All programmes will pause for lunch from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on both days.
