A statement of faith. Started in a garage in 1985 by Ms Poonam Natarajan, a mother with a child with disability, Ishu, Vidya Sagar is known today for the quality and range of programs. Itโ€™s โ€œprofessionalism with careโ€, the pro-active and positive spirit of its team of staff and children. In over 4 decades, Vidya Sagar has developed into an institution offering programs that focus on holistic devel

opment and education for children and adults with special needs; demystification of disability; empowering persons with special needs and their families with knowledge and skills, while strongly advocating on issues of inclusion. The organization believes in the right to equality of opportunity, an inclusive society where differences are celebrated, that disability is a development and a human rights issue.

The first Sibling Workshop for the academic year 2026โ€“2027, themed "Together and Beyond," was conducted for siblings of Vidya Sagar students aged 18 years and above. The workshop brought together 11 participants to connect, reflect, and explore their roles in supporting their siblings through shared experiences and meaningful discussions.

Twenty-two of our faculty members had the opportunity to attend a four-week leadership workshop facilitated by Shankaran Nair , Parameshwaran and Irshad Syed from Slingshot. The workshop encouraged participants to introspect on the individual qualities that make an effective learning leader. The sessions were thoughtfully planned and enriching, leaving participants with meaningful food for thought at the end of each session.

These insights will serve as the foundation for our continued journey of learning and leadership.

We are thrilled to share that the Guru Krupa Foundation has once again extended its generous support to Vidya Sagar. Since 2021, Guru Krupa foundation has been a steadfast partner in our mission to skill development and entrepreneurship training of individuals with disabilities. The foundationโ€™s support has been instrumental to provide vocational skills with individualised support and eventually move towards supported entrepreneurship. In addition to group of entrepreneurs in weaving and sustainable packaging, two other Entrepreneurial groups (Thread painting and Paper bag) have started functioning in the month of June, paving towards self employment and economic independence.

This year, the foundationโ€™s support will empower adults with developmental disabilities to gain vocational skills in the areas of weaving; environmental skilling; handmade paper; appropriate paper technology; tie and dye; block printing; sublimation and arts and crafts.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Guru Krupa Foundation for the unwavering support, enabling us to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults with multiple disabilities. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey!

Curiosity took centre stage as our students became science presenters for the day.

Through interactive models and hands-on demonstrations, they explored the Earth, the Solar System, rotation, revolution, sundials, and shadow formation, bringing scientific concepts to life for their peers.

Their enthusiasm and ability to connect science with everyday experiences made learning engaging, interactive, and memorable. More than a science demonstration, the event celebrated confidence, teamwork, communication, and the joy of learning together.
