🌐🔐 A Successful Cyber Security Awareness Session by CAPSI Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry Chapter! 🔐🌐

CAPSI Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry Chapter successfully conducted its 3rd Regular Speaker Meeting on Cyber Security Awareness yesterday at Race Club Guindy, Chennai.

The session was highly informative and insightful, providing our members with valuable knowledge about the growing challenges of cybercrime, cybersecurity threats, digital safety, and the precautions we must take to protect ourselves and our organisations in today’s digital world.

We were privileged to have Dr. S. Murugan, IPS Former Inspector General of Police, as our distinguished Chief Guest and Speaker.

Dr. Murugan shared his fantastic professional experiences and insights from his remarkable career with the Tamil Nadu Police as well as his experience associated with investigations at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). His practical experiences, real-life perspectives, and deep understanding of cybercrime made the session extremely engaging and interesting for all our fellow members.

The programme was not just a learning experience but also an excellent opportunity for networking, collaboration, and strengthening our collective preparedness against emerging cyber threats.

In an increasingly digital world, Cyber Security is everyone’s responsibility. Awareness, preparedness, and timely action are essential to protecting individuals, businesses, and society from cyber-related crimes.

Dear Members,

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (MHA) is taking a significant step towards modernising the regulatory framework for the private security industry through PSARA 2.0.

The proposed 2.0 Portal is intended to enhance transparency and efficiency, facilitate seamless compliance, and support data-driven regulation, while significantly improving the Ease of Doing Business for Private Security Agencies.

PSARA 2.0 will be discussed at the 21st Security Leadership Summit, to be held on 13 November 2026 at Mavalankar Hall, Constitution Club Of India, New Delhi.

The Summit will provide CAPSI India members with an important opportunity to understand the proposed reforms, share industry perspectives, and contribute constructively to shaping a more efficient and progressive regulatory ecosystem.

CAPSI looks forward to the active participation of all members in this important dialogue on the future of the private security Industry .

The Core Committee / Board Meeting of the CAPSI Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Chapter was held on 24th July 2026 at M Central Hotel T Nagar, Chennai

The meeting focused on several important matters concerning the association, including key challenges currently faced by the private security industry. The Committee held detailed deliberations and resolved to take proactive initiatives for the benefit of members and the industry.

Key Decisions Taken:

* To organise a One-Day Members’ Workshop on 28th August 2026, at either Mahabalipuram or Puducherry, depending on the convenience and preference of the honourable members. The workshop will focus on current industry developments, regulatory updates, and strengthening collaboration among members.

* To ensure maximum participation from the Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Chapter in the 21st National Security Leadership Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on 13th November 2026 at Mavalankar Hall, Constitution Club Of India, New Delhi. The Chapter will work collectively to contribute to the grand success of this prestigious national event.

* As a gesture of appreciation and to promote camaraderie among members, it was also proposed that, following the successful completion of the National Security Leadership Summit, all participating members from the Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Chapter will be invited to join a group tour to to unwind, strengthen professional relationships, and experience the beauty of the .

The Chapter remains committed to enhancing professional excellence, fostering unity among members, and contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of India’s private security industry.

A Landmark Step Towards Transforming India’s Private Security Industry

The recent communication issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, following the Joint Workshop on PSARA Compliance & Enforcement held on 25 June 2026, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of India’s private security sector.

For the first time, the Ministry has issued clear directions to all State Controlling Authorities to proactively address long-pending implementation and compliance issues under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (PSARA). This initiative is expected to bring greater uniformity in implementation, enhance transparency, and reinforce the Government’s commitment to Ease of Doing Business.

The communication reflects the Government’s recognition of the private security industry as a strategic partner in strengthening national security, protecting critical infrastructure, industries, institutions, and public spaces across the country.

The private security industry sincerely appreciates the visionary leadership of Shri P. Prasanna, IAS, Joint Secretary (Police Modernisation), Ministry of Home Affairs, for initiating this collaborative reform process, and the dedicated efforts of Mrs. Kriti Garg, IAS, Deputy Secretary, MHA, in facilitating meaningful engagement with stakeholders.

This development highlights the power of constructive dialogue between the Government and industry and lays the foundation for a more professional, compliant, transparent, and technology-driven private security ecosystem.

The journey, however, has only begun. Effective implementation by the States, continued stakeholder engagement, and the development of a National PSARA Reform Framework will be essential to creating a modern regulatory environment that promotes professionalism, investment, employment generation, and national security.

The private security industry remains committed to working closely with the Ministry of Home Affairs and all State Governments to realize this shared vision.

Together, we are building a stronger, more professional, and globally competitive private security industry for India.
