CHES-Community Health Education Society Community Health Education Society This home for orphans was named as Anandha Illam meaning happy home and was CHES's initial project in 1994.

Community Health and Education Society (CHES), run by physician Dr. Manorama, took in these shunned children when no one else would and offered refuge and solace to these unfortunate angels of GOD. Dr.Manorama was then working at the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for children, Egmore, one of the Asia best hospitals for children, where these 2 children were admitted for management of HIV a

nd Hepatitis B infection. Krishnaveni was aged 5 and Ravi was 3. On discharge and when the home from where they came hesitated to take them back it was Dr.Manorama who embraced these children and started CHES. CHES responded to this situation by providing care to AIDS orphans when no one else would, from where it took wings and has reached a stage where its activities encompass the whole spectrum of communities whose lives are threatened by this dreaded disease.
