DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry a not-for-profit organisation, was incepted in 2009 to find unrelated matched donors for patients with Leukemia or blood disorders whose life is dependent on an unrelated donor to survive. Any healthy individual between the age of 18 years to 50 years can register as a blood stem cell donor with DATRI and potentially become a lifesaver when they’re found to be a match for a fatal blood disorder patient. “I had tears in my eyes when I learned that my recipient was still alive.” ❤️

In 2016, Heba Abdulla took just a few minutes to register as a potential blood stem cell donor when she was studying at MES College of Engineering, Kuttipuram. .ktpm

Eight years later, she got the call that she was a matching a blood stem cell donor for someone battling leukaemia.

She said yes. Today, Heba carries a beautiful reminder of what those few minutes meant: for someone who got second chance at life.
