FOWAA Chronicles - a beautiful evening filled with faith, history & serenity!
At St. Thomas Mount Church ⛪

Our FOWAAians explored the sacred St. Thomas Mount (Parangimalai), the very hill where St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus, is believed to have attained martyrdom.

From climbing the hill to witnessing the stunning Church of Our Lady of Expectation, every moment was a reminder of Chennai’s deep spiritual & cultural roots.

A truly meaningful fellowship that blended reflection & exploration, the perfect FOWAA weekend!!!

FOWAA Chronicles – Celebrating Navratri with Golu Traditions!!! 🧸

This week, Fellowship of Weekend Action, Adventure & Activity (FOWAA) took a festive turn as we immersed ourselves in the spirit of Navratri Golu celebrations!

Our journey began at Rtn. Amizhdu’s home, continued to Rtn. Arumugam’s residence & concluded at the famous Rtn. Harigopal’s home in Chennai.

Each stop was filled with warmth, devotion & vibrant displays of Golu – each with its own divine story of Gods& Goddess & with unique theme.

Rotarians, Anns & Annettes joined together in singing bhajans, sharing sweets & delicacies, and experiencing the joy of this beautiful state's cultural tradition. It was truly a fellowship that celebrated togetherness, faith & heritage.

Immersing in sense of gratitude, President Rtn. Dhanasekar P stated, "A heartfelt thank you to our gracious hosts & their families for opening their homes & hearts for all FOWAAins."

This FOWAA was indeed a very colorful & meaningful celebration of Navratri. 🙏💐🙏

🎬✨ Club Movie Night – Supporting Our Own! ✨🎬

Last evening was truly special for our Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos, as we came together to celebrate the release of R.I.G.H.T., produced by our very own club member, Rtn. Francis Markus, who is an Executive Producer in the Tamil industry.

From the gripping storyline of justice and courtroom drama to the light-hearted comic moments that kept us smiling, the movie had it all:
brilliant production,
stellar direction, and
powerful performances.

The unique twist of bringing the courtroom to a police station made it an unforgettable experience.

We were also delighted to have the movie crew join us, making the evening even more memorable...

FOWAA Chronicles – A Morning Amidst Nature’s Lungs 🌳

The Fellowship of Weekend Action, Adventure & Activity (FOWAA), conceptualised by our President Rtn. Dr. Dhanasekar, gifted us yet another wonderful experience this morning at the Kotturpuram Urban Forest. 🌿

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Shoba Menon of Nizhal NGO, the visionary behind this Urban Tree Park, for sharing her insights and showing us the incredible impact of greening initiatives in the heart of our city. 🌱

The Kotturpuram Urban Forest stands as a living example of how trees can heal cities, purify air & gift future generations a healthier tomorrow...

As Rotarians, we are committed to a green future, creating awareness through such meaningful fellowships that blend learning with action.

FOWAA Chronicles – A Weekend of Heritage & Devotion... 🎥

The Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos continued its journey of Fellowship of Weekend Action, Activity & Adventure (FOWAA) with a soulful visit to the historic Sri Parthasarathy Temple at Triplicane, Chennai.

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu as Parthasarathy – Arjuna’s divine charioteer; this temple is a true jewel of Chennai’s spiritual & cultural heritage. Built by the Pallavas, it stands as one of the sacred 108 Divyadesams.

With fellowship, devotion & historic knowledge, our Sunday morning turned into a journey through time – celebrating heritage, faith & togetherness. 🫶

Teachers are the guiding stars who light the path of knowledge & wisdom.

We celebrated Teacher’s Day at our Interact Club - the prestigious MGR Higher Secondary School, Kodambakkam, honoring the teachers for their invaluable contribution in shaping the youth of today & leaders of tomorrow.

We were privileged to have Rtn. M. Senthil Kumar, District Youth Service Director & Past District Secretary - RI District 3233, as the Chief Guest.

Our Club President Rtn. Dr. Dhanasekar Padmanabhan, along with Youth Service Director Rtn. Antony, Learning Facilitator Rtn. Gnanavelan, Public Chair Rtn. Vijay Kumar & Club Officer Rtn. Francis Marcus, were honored to be part of this special celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to our Interact Club school for giving us the opportunity to serve the community & recognize the dedication of teachers who inspire generations.

The Interactors & the other students’ enthusiasm & love for their teachers added vibrance to the celebration, as they actively helped us curate & be a part of this memorable event.

🌍 World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 💚

In an initiative by Born To Win Research Foundation Trust, the
Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos, in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Council & Mimibowbow, successfully conducted a powerful Menstrual Hygiene Awareness & Distribution Drive for women training officers at Villupuram.

We were privileged to have the presence and support of:
