On 7 October 1985, a group of eminent people decided who wanted to move from merely complaining about deteriorating standards of living to committed action. Consumer Action Group (CAG) was begun as a group that focused on enhancing participatory spaces for the public: to function as a platform for citizens to voice their concerns on consumer and environment protection.
