VGS Welfare Trust’s Aim : Constructing ‘Uravinar Illam’ building with a Goshala in the backyard in Alamathi, Chennai 600052.

Shri. V Natarajan, a Head Drafting Officer, PWD , Government of Tamilnadu who worked mostly in Chidambaram - Cuddalore area came to Chennai after his retirement , settled in Chennai and was stayinging for sometime in Mylapore - Mandaveli area. During evening walk, he used to peep into Ramakrishna Mission, R K Mutt Road, Mylapore. Deeply impressed by the selfless service rendered by the followers of RAMAKRISHNA-VIVEKANANDA, he wanted to do some service to the society, at least to his KITH and KIN.

He was also greatly influenced by the construction of ‘SRIVIDYA KARPAKA VINAYAKAR’ temple by his elder brother ‘KOIL KANDAAN’ Shri. V Mrithyunjayan in ALAMATHI village near Red Hills, Chennai in which all the FAMILY MEMBERS and RELATIVES participated wholeheartedly and all considered the event a as a starting point for a great future plan that is being unfolded by the Almighty’s grand design!

Under the above influences, Shri. Natarajan first shared his ideas regarding a Welfare Trust to help the HEIRS AND CLANS of his Grand Father Virupakshipuram Ganapathy Sarma with his brothers and they all approved the same instantaneously. In turn they shared this idea with the heirs and clans of Ganapathi Sarma present at the Sadhabhishekam function of Shri GOPALA IYER in VEDHA PARAYANA MUTT, CHIDAMBARAM. The heirs and clans approved the proposal unanimously and decided the creation of the above Welfare Trust. As such the Trust was started on 12-12-2010 (Sunday) by the HEIRS and CLANS of Virupakshipuram Ganapathy Sarma during Sow. Bhuvana’s marriage in a big marriage hall at Triplicane where most of the KITH ans CLANS were present . At a later date, ALL OUR RELATIVES were also included along with HEIRS and CLANS of Virupakshipuram Ganapathy Sarma in the beneficiaries list.

The main aim of our VGS Welfare Trust is to integrate all our RELATIVES and to create a bond between them through pilgrimage to the holy places, campaign through Videos, Face Book, Whats App, Google, LinkedIn, Gene Family Tree and other social media and serve them at the time of need. Trust will also strive to propagate the VEDHIC CULTURE which commands us to live a life in consonance with nature following the teachings of SANATHANA DHARMA as enjoined in Shasthras. As such all relatives are requested to give their wholehearted support to our Trust MONETARILY as well as through their active participation in various activities of the Trust and see that the Trust grows in leaps and bounds in the years to come. The Trust will concentrate its activities mainly in Alamathi village near Red Hills, Chennai 600052 to start with. Those relatives who donate their plot in Alamathi village for our Trust or the relatives who donate Rs 2,00,000/- Rs Two Lakhs or more would become the TRUSTEES of our VGS Welfare Trust. Those who donate Rs 1,00,000/- Rs One Lakh or more would find their names duly engraved in letters of gold along with the names of other donors in the GRANITE slab to be kept in the entrance of the URAVINAR ILLAM building to be constructed with your DONATIONS.
