Wish you a very happy new year.

We got a request for help from a student, who is pursuing an MBBS degree at Thanjavur Medical College. He is an exceptional student who has taken the NEET exam and secured his seat through medical counseling.

He comes from a very humble background; his father is a farmer, and his mother assists with the farming work. He has an elder brother studying for B.Sc. in Agriculture at Agricultural University, Madurai.

Due to their unstable income from farming, they are struggling to manage the educational expenses for both children.

The student has demonstrated remarkable academic performance, achieving +2 marks of 595 out of 600 (99%).

HM trust has helped with Rs 10000 towards his hostel fees. Thanks to all HM members contributions through which this student is helped.

Just to recall, we helped her elder brother (Safeeq) and he just completed his degree, he is yet to get a job. If we could help her with whatever possible this year, they can manage the rest and going forward they can take care. Second semester marks – she has Scored 75%. We have started an initiative to identify and support the toilet cleaning needs for the Government schools. HM member Bruce, along with his friends, is providing Rs. 1.2 lakhs per month for this initiative. There are 30 Government schools identified, most of them in villages. There are a few co-ordinators who will inspect on a regular basis and provide feedback. We started with 5 schools last February and added more schools from June last year. The feedback from the schools is very positive. We believe that this initiative will help provide a healthy environment for the students.

Thanks to Balamani for identifying the schools and co-ordinating regarding this request - this is a massive effort in terms of identification, working with the school Head masters, getting their involvement to ensure the efforts and money is fully utilized. Thanks to Bruce and his friends for the continuous support for this project.

Please comment/message if you like to join hands with this initiative.
