Spreading Coolness, Sharing Kindness – Summer Service 2026
From April to June 2026, during the peak of Chennai's scorching summer, Diya Sharing Foundation carried forward its mission of compassion by distributing refreshing chill buttermilk to thousands of travellers, daily wage workers, street vendors, delivery personnel, and passersby across T. Nagar, Mylapore, Royapettah, and Pondy Bazaar.
As temperatures soared and the city battled intense heat, a simple cup of chilled buttermilk became more than just a drink—it became a symbol of care, relief, and human connection. Every serving carried a message that no one should feel alone in their struggle against the harsh summer.
The smiles of exhausted workers, the gratitude of travellers seeking a moment of relief, and the blessings from elderly citizens reminded us that true service lies in meeting the simplest yet most essential needs of society. Through this initiative, Diya Sharing Foundation transformed compassion into action, bringing comfort and hope to countless individuals during the hottest months of the year.
This summer campaign was not merely about quenching thirst; it was about touching hearts, strengthening community bonds, and demonstrating that even small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact. Every volunteer, donor, and supporter became a part of this beautiful journey of sharing and caring.
As we look back on these months of service, we are inspired by the belief that humanity shines brightest when we extend a helping hand to those around us. Together, we proved that kindness is contagious, and a simple gesture of love can make a world of difference.
"When the sun was at its hottest, hearts came together to spread coolness, compassion, and hope."
