Chudar We help improve the quality of education for underprivileged children. We believe that that every child can learn well, given the right inputs and environment.

As part of Chudar, we develop innovative educational content in Language, Mathematics and Science to help improve children’s learning. As a first step, we have started 5 after-school centers catering to poor children from Chennai’s slums. The key principles in our approach are:

- Measurement of learning outcomes
- Skill assessments
- Technology-aided learning
- Community contribution and participation

In each slum area, our centres have 3 local tutors taking classes and reaching 50 children. The focus will be on children from classes 3-8 (though a few children from other classes will also be there). We will be developing our unique content and methodology which will both be synchronised to the state board curriculum and at the same time help in learning concepts and skills. Our focus subjects will be Maths, Science and English – the subjects that most students find difficult in middle and high-schools. Find out more at: www.chudar.org

At Thirumangalam High School, Oxford University Press initiatives are helping students develop a stronger interest in reading, strengthen their Maths and Science skills, and showcase their talents through learning activities. A Library Renewed. A World Reimagined. 📚✨
A meaningful day of learning, discovery, and inspiration at ADW School, Thirumangalam, Chennai, as Oxford University Press & Chudar came together to inaugurate a renewed library and celebrate the curiosity of young minds through a Science Exhibition.
From exploring new books to presenting creative experiments, our students reminded us that every question can spark a journey of discovery. 🌱🔬📖

“At first, bringing children to tuition was the biggest challenge. Today, they come on their own.” ❤️

For our tutors, the impact of education is not just seen in marks—it is seen in curiosity, confidence and the eagerness to learn.

In rural communities, especially for girls, continuing education can come with many challenges. Our tutors work closely with children and families to create a safe and encouraging learning environment.

Through Chudar’s programmes, children are not just reading from textbooks. They are experimenting, observing, asking questions and learning by doing.

This tutor’s journey is a reminder that sometimes, the biggest change begins with simply helping a child walk through the door and discover the joy of learning. 🌱📚
